Job description automotive mechatronics technician (m/f/d)

Field of work:

Motor vehicle mechatronics technicians work in the planning, maintenance, testing, diagnosis, repair, equipping and retrofitting of motor vehicles with a focus on passenger car, commercial vehicle, motorcycle or vehicle communication technology. Training takes place at vehicle manufacturers and in service companies.

Professional skills:

Motor vehicle mechatronics technicians carry out maintenance and repair work independently and as part of a team, taking into account environmental protection, occupational safety, health protection and quality assurance in a customer-oriented manner. They obtain and evaluate information, plan their work and document it. They analyze electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, identify faults and malfunctions and rectify them. They use computer-aided information and communication systems to create test reports.

Automotive mechatronics technicians

  • diagnose faults and malfunctions and their causes
  • maintain, test and adjust vehicle systems
  • dismantle and assemble motor vehicles and their systems, assemblies and repair components
  • fitting, converting and equipping motor vehicles and their systems
  • inspecting vehicles in accordance with road traffic regulations
  • operating vehicles and their systems, as well as commissioning
  • updating systems and test equipment
  • communicate with internal and external customers as appropriate to the situation
  • plan and monitor work processes and evaluate work results
  • apply quality assurance measures.
