Job description vehicle painter (m/f/d)

Field of work: Vehicle painters design surfaces; they produce surface coatings and applications on vehicles, superstructures, objects, individual and series parts, both for new production and for repairs. They repair, assemble and dismantle components and systems.

Professional skills: Vehicle painters carry out their work independently and in a customer-oriented manner on the basis of work orders, both alone and as part of a team. They plan and coordinate their work, determine the work steps and the materials required. They take measures to ensure health and safety at work and to protect the environment in the workplace. They hold discussions with customers, check their work for faultless execution, document it, carry out quality assurance measures and record quantities and time spent to calculate the services provided.

Vehicle painters and refinishers

  • check and evaluate substrates and prepare them for the final coating,
  • carry out protective measures for surfaces that are not to be processed,
  • coat, treat and design surfaces,
  • produce lettering, design and effect paintwork,
  • maintain and repair surfaces,
  • test the function of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic components and systems,
  • carry out dismantling and assembly work, as well as glazing on vehicles
  • carry out repair work on vehicles and vehicle parts,
  • carry out measurements and document the results,
  • select equipment, tools, machines and systems for the work order, set them up, operate them and maintain them,
  • process materials and components.
